STEPHEN'S PERSPECTIVE
"Photography is an art form with exacting qualities. The maneuvering of light and subject are the two basic elements needed to begin the creation of a photographic image that challenges the viewer to become emotionally involved.
Creating an image using ideas, color harmony and composition are just a small part of an exciting image. I prefer to create images that stimulate wonderful expressions or responses, whether it be from the subject or the viewer." --STEPHEN
STEPHEN SMITH, Master Photographer, has enjoyed twenty plus years serving in his profession. Stephen's understanding of photographic elements (use of light, composing, etc.), along with his innate creativity and sensitivity to a subject, has yielded many state, regional and national award winning images. Stephen says, "If the mind can see it, it can be created." His time away from the camera is spent enjoying his antique '66 Ford Bronco, four wheeling on Jeep trails and backpacking with his wife, Edie, and their family and friends.
EDIE SMITH, Office and Sales Manager, picks up the slack! A graduate of Pittsburg State University with dual degrees in Printing Management and Business Administration, Edie's experience is in sales and marketing, having worked in the graphic arts industry for over twenty years. She enjoys working with the studio's creative team and seeing projects progress from the creative development to handing the finished photography to a satisfied client. Edie says, "I can't think of another profession that brings so much lasting joy to people. Capturing memories for generations to come is pretty powerful. And, seeing our clients appreciate our work is very gratifying." Edie also enjoys backpacking with Stephen and their family, reading and designing remodeling projects.
MARY JANE KING, Fine Artist, utilizes her natural talents and computer skills for portrait retouching, graphic arts projects and fine art painting and image enhancement. Mary Jane has dual degrees, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Graphic Design and Bachelor of Science, Journalism from Kansas State University. Her leisure time is spent with her husband, Jeff, and two sons. Mary Jane enjoys camping, home remodeling projects and various outdoor activities.
